SUPER PRIMOS

SUPER PRIMOS

Super Cousins is a series of adventure that has as its main theme the play and the fantasy. In a contemporary world where children have busy schedules, with little or no play time, the series values the play space and its important role as a means by which children express their feelings, learn, explore and reflect on reality and the culture where they are inserted.

In this sense, is inspiring the thought of the british child psychoanalyst, Donald Winnicot. He puts playing as a fundamental childhood practice. "To play is universal and is proper to health: playing makes it easier to grow, so it is healthy. To play is something other than to imagine and to wish, to play is to do ".

Composed of twenty-three episodes of 13 minutes each, the series presents the adventures lived moments before bedtime by the brothers Gabi, Vitoria and Caio and their cousins Cristopher and Julia and also  their dreams / oniric adventures when they finally give in to sleep. While they coexist with themes of their daily lives, which appear in the lived jokes and dreams, the five cousins also deal with the challenge of adapting to a new spatial reality. The room of the low-middle-class apartment, hitherto occupied only by the two sisters and the brother, now also houses the cousins , who arrive for a season after being dumped due to economic problems.

In this coexistence, they live quarrels and fights common to childhood, reflect on situations of their daily life and indulge in fun jokes in the bedroom, which turns into a world of adventures and fantasies. The bedroom is the safe space where children are welcomed and also live their fantasies. It is the space where they live playing as a formative and fundamental act of childhood, an act of elaboration.
